Galilee Discovered
Loved and adored by millions of pilgrims and visitors each year, the Galilee region is considered by many as one of the most beautiful locations in Israel. The rolling mountains of lower and upper Galilee, rich with vegetation, water sources, fertile valleys and rural villages, drop sharply down into the Kineret Lake, the Sea of Galilee, which is affectionately considered the “Fifth Gospel” by Christian scholars worldwide due to its centrality in the New Testament accounts of Jesus of Nazareth. Nazareth itself, a predominantly Arab Israeli city, is located in the central Galilee. It is an ancient/modern city featuring multiple Christian Pilgrim sites referring to Mary, Joseph and Jesus’ childhood years.
